The 991.2 mid-cycle boost of the Porsche 911 continues to charm us, as the one after the other, the models from 20-plus Neunelfer line-up are touched by the refresh wand.
The time has come to zoom in on the 2017 Porsche 911 Targa GTS, with the 991.2 facelift seeing the Targa Florio race victories-inspired model dipping even further into its heritage.

To be more precise, the revamped Targa GTS, which can be seen fully naked in the spy photos to your right, comes with a Black roof bar. While this color option is missing from the 991.1 models, the dark-trimmed roof bar dates back to the early Targa Porsches (1968). The feature lived on, even becoming standard on the 1990 964 Targa, but with the 993 generation seeing the Targa replacing its roll hoop with a panoramic glass roof that was kept though the 997 generation, the Black Beauty piece was gone.

Truth be told, the 2017 Porsche 911 Targa GTS has been driving around naked for quite some time now (here's an example), showing the sportscar in this state). Factor in the expected late 2016 release date and we end up with the conclusion that the engineering marvel-roofed GTS will make its official debut at this fall's Paris Motor Show.

Let's not forget that the French venue, which is set to open its doors to the public on October 1st, will also host the official introduction of the 2017 Porsche Panamera. Nevertheless, since we've already seen acceleration videos and spottings in the wild and even a Panamera mule used for testing the future Cayenne Coupe, the second incarnation of the four-door Porsche doesn't have all that many secrets to show.

The naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six of the current model will make room for the new 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six and we should see a small dose of extra badassery compared to the 420 hp output and the opinion-splitting soundtrack the engine currently delivers on the "S" Neunelfers.

And with the forced induction torque helping the Targa overcoming the idea that it is the chunkiest model in the line-up, we're looking forward to a spectacular debut.
