2017 Porsche 911 R with Green Stripes Shows Up in Germany

The 2017 Porsche 911 R is still fresh on our desktops after its Geneva Motor Show debut last month, and yet the lucky Zuffenahsuen aficionados that ordered one before the reveal (the model was sold out when it made its debut) are already starting to take their machines out.

As you can see in the image above, a 911 R with Green stripes has been spotted, with the vehicle having shown up in Germany. The images, which come from DN Carspotting via Autogespot, show the special Neunelfer cruising around casually.

Right now, you might be looking at the hue of the stripes and wondering what the guy who ordered the car was thinking when he chose that color. Well, we're not sure either, but the truth is that the stripes themselves have been an opinion splitter ever since the machine greeted us on the Geneva floor.

The Black stickers on the side are not that uncommon for 911s, but since the combination between these and the stripes can easily lead to a new wave of controversy, things can get a bit complicated.

Then again, if you were one of the people who got wind of Porsche coming up with the 991-unit limited edition and managed to grab one, we're pretty sure you're not that willing to pay attention to what others think about the color combo on your manual rear-engined machine.

For one thing, you're probably busy shifting gears - Porsche has admitted the 911 R is an afterthought, one that was born to silence those criticizing the lack of a clutch pedal in the GT3 and GT3 RS.

More importantly, the German automaker is now expected to address the issue even further, with the next GT3 set to also offer a manual as an option. And no, we're not talking about the next 911 generation, which won't arrive until 2020. Instead, we're referring to the 991.2 GT3, which has been recently spied and should come to the market soon.
