2017 Porsche 911 R in White with Blue Stripes Has PDK-Hating License Plates

We've shown you plenty of 2017 Porsche 911 R examples this year, but none of them caught our attention quite in the same fashion as the one we have here.

You see, Porsche was so clever at disguising the bad boy DNA of the R, building on the understated aura of any Neunelfer, that certain owners seem to be willing to make an extra statement about their stick shift supercars.

And the R we have here is an example as good as any, with its Scottish plates delivering a message that will kick 991 GT3 and GT3 RS owners right in the PDK - lens tip to Jk.automotive for the pic.

Sure, not all aficionados who ordered a GT3, be it a Rennsport machine or not, would've gone for the three-pedal setup, but those of them who went with the dual-clutch hardware because they had no choice probably wouldn't feel too much love for the manual special we have here.

And while we're not sure about the meaning of the plates' numerical side, conspiracy theory fans could easily add an extra "6" for a complete punch line.

However, we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves here, as this 911 R doesn't pack the apparel of a devil. In fact, given the White finish and the Blue stripes, which once again set the Porscha apart even among its kind, would suggest quite the opposite.

Then again, before jumping to angel-related conclusions, keep in mind that these cars, which came with an MSRP of $184,900, now trade hands for more than half a million dollars. Yes, the speculation market is merciless and, despite Porsche's efforts to prevent 918 Spyder buyers (they were offered the chance to buy Rs) from flipping their clutch-gifted Neunelfers early, some people seem to have made it through the official barrier.

Our biggest issue with such prices? Anybody who buys a 911 R for the price of a Carrera GT (you can check out a comparo involving the two in the link or just go over the images to your right) will be considerably less determined to hoon it properly compared to the situation in which the beast would've been acquired for its MSRP. And seeing these stick shift wonders becoming garage queens is a shame.
