A Mercedes official recently said they could have had a model like the X6 before BMW. That shows the competitive nature of the industry and also the fact that these SUV-coupes are something huge.
We don’t mean “huge” in the literal sense of the world, as today we are going to talk about the GLC Coupe, which is technically mid-size comparable to the BMW X4 and the Porsche Macan.

As the first reviews of the regular GLC-Class are beginning to come in, Mercedes is already hard at work developing the chopped version, which has been spotted on a few occasions around Stuttgart.

Of course, we already know what to expense because a preview concept was shown in April. But just in case you want to know what the GLC Coupe will look like, here’s an accurate rendering from RM Design.

As you can see, the GLC Coupe is the ideal competitor for the BMW X4. Not only is it quite cat-like in appearance, but it also promises to be nice to drive. Reports suggest the lighter chassis has made a world of difference compared to the GLC, and the latest 9G-Tronic gearbox is creamy-smooth.

If you search online car ads, most of the X4s that are for sale in Europe are equipped with 2-liter diesel engines. The GLC Coupe will have one of those two, available with either 177 or 204 PS. At launch, it should also be available with two versions of the latest twin-turbo V6 engine, producing 333 or 367 PS.

Air suspension will be accessible to those seeking a nicer ride, and the AMG Sport package will take care of the thrill seeker demands. In a few years, we might even see a model powered by the C63 AMG’s V8 engine.
