With only a few months left until the official reveal of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, there's very little left that we don't know about the car. However, the interior is still a bit of a mystery, bar some spy shots that we showed you about a month ago.
This is the first time somebody managed to catch the car's interior on video and, unfortunately, it still doesn't answer the biggest question that's on everybody's tongues: will the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class come with an all-digital instrument cluster or not?
The quality of this video isn't good enough to get an accurate impression (the guy with the camera was filming through the car's side window, after all), but comparing it to the much clearer shots we've had so far, it does seem to look a bit different.
It's pretty clear that even if the instrument panel isn't one big display, the insides of the dials are fully digital and there's also a screen in between them.
If this dashboard were different than the one spied before, this would explain why the car's driver is so eager to cover everything up once he realizes he's being filmed. I mean, we all know these guys are very scrupulous, but the cockpit was already partially covered, so that was a bit of overkill.
From what we've been able to see so far, the central console is a mix between the S-Class and the C-Class, with elements taken from both models and mixed together to create something with just enough character to avoid being labeled as a clone. The lower part of the dashboard is similar to that in the smaller car, while the four air vents and the adjacent central display and instrument cluster are a nod to the S-Class.
