2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class’ Beautiful Interior Revealed in First Official Video

There is exactly one month left until the official launch of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class on January 11, 2016, but thanks to the substantial package of hi-res photos of the interior already released by Mercedes-Benz, we know very well what to expect from the car’s cabin.

The Germans haven’t been as generous with the exterior of the car, but as the launching date gets closer, they will apply the same treatment and release a series of pictures ahead of the NAIAS presentation. Who knows, if we’ve all been good boys, maybe it will even happen on Christmas day. It probably won’t, though, as that would be the one day of the month guaranteed to offer Mercedes the tiniest virtual audience possible.

Anyway, let’s focus on what we already have at hand, and that’s a video presentation of the new E-Class’ beautiful interior. They do cheat a little and start off with the “Designo” version, which is the most luxurious of the five available trims and packages. After all, we’ll get the chance to see the more accessible fabric-coated layout when we get picked up from the airport in Germany next year.

The video confirms what the pictures already showed us: the 2017 E-Class has a very beautiful interior with a clean design peppered with enough S-Class influences to make it feel like it belongs to a superior segment, but showing plenty of character not to be mistaken with its larger sibling’s cabin. Even though that wouldn’t have been so much of a problem for the E-Class as for the S-Class.

The dashboard’s announced horizontal theme is made obvious by the two wide displays sitting side by side, and the clear separation from the vertical central console that looks like a C-Class ripoff. That, by the way, is a compliment.

The Burmester sound system looks impressive as ever, and that’s before it plays a single note, while the steering wheel (not sure about the all-tan color) displays its touch-sensitive buttons on each of the two horizontal spokes.

Apart from that, we’re shown a few customization options available for the two digital displays, as well as the all-LED interior lighting system that can choose between 64 different colors (available as an option).
