2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe Leaked Two Days Ahead of Its Official Launch

Somebody call the plumber because the internet is leaking like hell these days. On this particular occasion, the process brings us the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe. Nothing is safe now that everybody's carrying privacy's weapon of doom in their pockets: a smartphone capable of snapping better photos than most cameras did five years ago and also spreading them all over the internet in a matter of seconds. Depending on the connection, of course.

The latest AMG machine, which was only a few days away from escaping unscathed with the official launch scheduled no further than this Wednesday. As its more recent Affalterbach family members (the AMG GT S or the AMG C63 S), the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe should also see the S version launch first, followed by the standard, less powerful regular model.

The two leaked images - courtesy of zero2turbo - show the standard modifications we've come to expect over the standard versions of the C-Class Coupe: new radiator grille and air intakes at the front and a larger spoiler, more aggressive air diffuser and quad exhaust tailpipes.

All in all and without taking anything away from the wonderful C63 AMG, the Coupe seems to be more worthy of wearing the AMG badge with smoother, curvier lines and proportions that better fit a sportscar. It should also drive slightly better, too.

Needless to say, the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe will be using the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine so widely spread across the whole AMG range these days. Depending whether we're talking about a C63 Coupe plain or a C63 S Coupe, it will develop either 475 hp or 510 hp. Regardless of its state of tune, though, it will still be one of the best sounding V8s out there, helped by the raucous AMG exhaust system.

This leak, unlike others, has one particular feature: it does nothing to dent the excitement about the Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe launch since it wasn't the car's looks we were after in the first place. Nope, we're still as restless as before to get behind the wheel and see how it drives.
