Just like the 2016 model year, the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata in U.S.-spec form holds a starting price of $24,915 excluding the $875 destination charge. The only real change brought by the 2017 model year is more safety equipment for the MX-5 Miata Club, which is slotted as the mid-range trim level in the lineup.
Described as a packaging change, the Club now boasts Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. In the past, only the Grand Touring could be had with these two safety features. That said, the Mazda MX-5 continues to offer the best bangs per buck of any sports car on the market today.

The no-frills Sport model brags with a leather-wrapped shifter and handbrake, black cloth seats, bright-finish 16-inch alloys, a USB port, Bluetooth, a base six-speaker audio system, cruise control, power mirrors and windows, plus LED headlights. A compelling configuration nonetheless, I would say.

Then there’s the Club (pictured), which builds on the Sport’s goodies with red stitching, a shock tower brace for manual-equipped cars, better front aerodynamics, as well as Bilstein-approved suspension and, most importantly, a limited-slip diff. The Brembo/BBS Package (also pictured) is an option that one-ups things with better brakes, better wheels, plus side sill extensions.

Last, but certainly not least, the Grand Touring is as lavish as the MX-5 Miata can get. A nine-speaker Bose Premium sound system, 7.0-inch infotainment system, leather upholstery, three-stage heated seats, automatic headlights, as well as additional sound absorption material are the highlights of the fanciest MX-5 Miata money can buy in the U.S. of A.

Those who would rather more comfort from the MX-5 can get the RF. The Retractable Fastback body style starts from the Club trim level ($31,555) and climaxes with the Grand Touring 6AT ($33,825) and Launch Edition 6AT ($34,925). The optional Machine Gray Metallic paint finish costs $300.
