2017 Kawasaki Ninja H2 Gets Update and Limited Carbon Edition

Probably the most important news for 2017 regarding Kawasaki’s H2 range is the addition of a new 22-click of adjustments Ohlins TTX shock absorber at the back, but there are more subtle things to notice on the new machine.

The dashboard display now features a ‘bank angle’ function, which, as the name says, it shows your lean angle in real time and will also not each ride’s max tilt. Sounds like a neat MotoGP-inspired gizmo, but it might turn against you if the new function gets to be your main concern while riding.

As a countermeasure, Kawasaki added a Bosch 6-axis IMU to unite all the bike’s electronic nannies and add cornering ABS as well. The quickshifter also learned to downshift without the rider having to squeeze the clutch in.

Behind the trellis frame, you’ll find the same engine but with an updated exhaust to match the stricter Euro4 regulations down on the Old Continent. Squint harder and a new collector stands out along with a bigger catalytic convertor. The internals got more precious metals inside for longer lifespan while the silencers got redesigned guts.

In a cool marketing scheme, Kawasaki also decided to throw in a 120-unit limited edition H2 Carbon version which adds a CFRP (carbon reinforced polymer) upper cowl, a carbon fiber Akrapovic exhaust and the same paint on the H2R track bike.

Being a limited edition model, the H2 Carbon will also get a small plaque mounted on the supercharger bearing it’s own reference number. Pricing information for it is not available at the moment but expect to be more than £22,000 (€25,030/$28,020) which is the price tag on the standard H2.
