Jaguar can now be held responsible for teasing the Green Hell out of us with its F-Type SVR. The most muscular incarnation of the big cat (to date) has shown up in front of our spy photographers’ cameras on so many occasions that we lost count.
The SVR division’s take on the F-Type has recently been spotted doing its thing on the Nurburgring, with the engineers pushing it to the limit. You don’t even have to take our word for this, as the glowing brake rotors seen while the car was going through the Carousel speak for themselves.

The familiar 5.0-liter supercharged V8 under that aluminum hood is expected to receive a not-so-familiar bump to 600 hp. As F-Type fans know, this Jag can sometimes be more tail-happy than it should, but fret not, the SVR will most likely pack all-wheel-drive to keep the muscle in check.

The list of technical goodies will also include items such as a tweaked electronically-controlled rear differential, a suspension upgrade, as well as carbon-ceramic brakes.

What about the styling department?

Those of you willing to know how the SVR-ization process will influence the appearance of the F-Type should look at the division's F-Type Project 7 for hints.

As we can expect from Jaguar, the F-Type SVR will be one extrovert feline, so you’ll be able to tell this is a special incarnation of the machine starting with the front apron details.

Aside from the various details we can see around the car, we could also be dealing with wider tracks, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The Jaguar F-Type SVR will make its debut next year as a 2017 model, just in time for the facelifted Porsche 911 Turbo to also hit the market.

Those who fancy extreme driving sensation with the wind in their hair shouldn’t worry - an open-top version is in the pipeline.
