2017 Jaguar F-Type Is Cheaper than the 2016 Model Year

For the 2017 Jaguar F-Type, the British manufacturer decided to make its sports car a little more affordable to the masses. Care to guess how much you have to pay for the privilege of owning the bewitching F-Type?

Slated to arrive in US showrooms in the second quarter of 2016, the 2017 Jaguar F-Type Coupe is now priced at $61,400. The pricing excludes the $995 destination and handling charge, yet here's the deal - it's $3,600 less than the 2016 model year. For the Convertible, the MSRP is $65,400, which is $2,700 off the previous MY's price.

Both body styles are covered as standard by the Jaguar EliteCare ownership package. In plain English, that's the equivalent to a 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle warranty with scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, as well as Jaguar Protect & Remote. Standard features for the entry-level variant of the 2017 Jaguar F-Type include a 770W surround sound audio system by Meridian, sat-nav, Sirius XM satellite radio, leather, suede cloth, and InControl Apps for the infotainment system.

6-way adjustable partially electric seats are also featured, which is not as good as the previous model year's 14-way power adjust seats. Valet Mode and a solar attenuating windshield glass are included as well. As such, the 2017 Jaguar F-Type represents an overall saving of approximately $1,700 over the previous MY on a standard equipment-adjusted basis. Further options can be outfitted on all US-spec F-Type models (including the R and its supercharged 5-liter V8) individually or with a new Premium option package.

In terms of get-up-and-go, the entry model is animated by a supercharged 3-liter V6. The powerplant channels 340 British ponies to the rear wheels of the car via a 6-speed manual transmission. Let us repeat that - good old a stick-shift is offered as standard. If you can't be bothered with manual shifting, the Quickshift automatic transmission will cater to your driving needs.
