Somehow, Infiniti predicted what SUVs will look like in 2016, because even though it's ancient, the QX70 looks just like the Maserati Levante with a dash of Porsche Cayenne. But customers are stubborn; they want new. And new is what they will get in the form of the 2017 QX70 Limited model being presented at the New York Auto Show.
It will go on sale this summer and joins the existing QX80 Limited model in having slightly revised features and updated kit.

The Q50 and Q60 have been stuffed with turbocharged engines. Unfortunately, the latest 3-liter unit with forced induction has not been introduced here, so the QX70 continues to have the same 325 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine. It sounds good and comes matched by a seven-speed automatic gearbox and standard RWD (AWD optional).

Many of the updates have been concentrated at the front. The slightly updated front fascia has LED daytime running lights arranged in two bars at the bottom. There's also a new grille design that seems pulled straight from the Q70 sedan and will be available on all 2017 QX70 models, not just the Limited.

Moving further down the side, we see the old air vents have been painted in the same color as the body. The mirror caps received a darker paint finish that brings out the SUV's sporty character. A new set of 21-inch wheels has been specifically designed for this model and fitted with 265/45 all-season tires. The last touch is a stainless steel rear bumper trim piece.

In the interior department, the 2017 QX70 Limited features trim finished in Graphite and Stone, aluminum trim and metal pedal inserts. The biggest overall change has been made to the seats, which feature a black and white leather color combination and accent stitching. Optionally, the front ones can be equipped with heating and ventilation, but power adjustment is standard.

Infiniti will display the QX70 Limited at the New York Auto Show. However, we won't know how much it costs until a few months from now.
