Bentley and Rolls-Royce aren't the only ones inventing new lavish segments to make sure each gets its fair share of best-in-class accolades. The same goes for GM, which claims to have come up with the industry’s first premium midsize truck.
That’s how GMC calls the 2017 Canyon for the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show and we have to bare in mind that the truck has now been given a Denali makeover.
You can grab the Denali treatment on the crew cab models powered by either the 3.6-liter gasoline V6 or the 2.8-liter diesel, since gifting a lesser-cabbed model with lavish elements wouldn’t have made sense.
GMC has already introduced us to the Denali formula used for the Canyon. The sprayed-in bedliner constrasts with the tons of chrome adorning the grille, foglight surround, side steps. The polished exhaust tip matches the finish seen on the wheels, which come in a 20-inch size.
While the non-Denali Canyon is offered in eight colors, the premium truck comes in six hues, so you still get plenty of visual play.
However, the cabin can only be had in Jet Black, perhaps in an effort to show this is serious business. The instrument panel is custom, while Denali badging is present inside the car.
For those of you who want to know what the Denali trim in terms of standard feature, here are the most important features:
• Heated steering wheel
• GMC IntelliLink with Navigation, an eight-inch-diagonal color touchscreen and phone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
• OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot
• Automatic climate control
• Full-color driver information center
• Remote vehicle starter system
• Two USB charging ports on the rear of the center console ad another USB port inside the console
