Forget the Hyundai Genesis of yesteryear. Ladies and gents, please put your hands together for the 2017 Genesis G80.
The second model to come from the Genesis Motors brand is, as you can also tell from the accompanying vids and pics, very similar to its Hyundai-badged predecessor. No pricing has been made available for the mid-luxury sedan, yet the automaker suggests that the G80 boasts good bang for the buck.
Not only that but the 2017 Genesis G80 with the base V6 develops more horsepower than its nearest rivals. Furthermore, Genesis also highlights that the G80 trumps its rivals in terms of passenger volume and cargo volume.
Even though the U.S. specification of the 2017 Genesis G80 isn’t available with the 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 in the South Korea-spec Genesis G80 Sport, the entry-level V6 and range-topping V8 are good enough. The 3.8-liter Lambda V6 engine develops 311 HP and 293 lb-ft (397 Nm) of torque. The 5.0-liter Tau V8 powerplant ups the ante to 420 HP and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. HTRAC all-wheel-drive is only available with the freely aspirated V6 .
Customers are able to choose from nine distinct exterior paint finishes and three interior color and wood combinations. As for standard goodies, the G80 comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, a 4.3-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster display, satellite navigation, 12-way power front seats, Bluetooth for your phone, and so on and so forth. But wait, there’s more!
The Genesis G80 comes with 3 years or 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance and complimentary valet services. Neat, huh?
“Genesis cars exude confidence, and it has driven us to design an ownership experience that is personalized, convenient and saves time,” said Erwin Raphael, general manager of Genesis Motors USA. “Respect and courtesy are the foundation of the Genesis Experience. We will honor our owners’ time through streamlined processes that put their needs first,” he concluded.
More information on the G80 is available in the release below.
