While Blue Oval engineers are taking 2017 GT test cars around the US to complete the development of the supercar, the carmaker’s European division is testing the waters, taking the prototype to one of the European supercar capitals, London.
The 2017 Ford GT was parked in Central London with its badges covered, with a Ford reporter asking passers-by to identify the supercar. The British capital has a rich supercar population, consisting of both local and Arab-plate machines that come to enjoy the summer.

Thus, its inhabitants are familiar to all sorts of go-fast machines, but, out of the ones shown in the clip below, nobody managed to recognize the Ford brand. WIth non-car people involved and the 2006 Ford GT never being offered in Europe, we're not exactly surprised.

Our favorite answer comes from an enthusiastic little boy, who thought the Ford GT was a Ferrari. And while we can’t wait for the 2016 season, when we’ll see the GT’s racing version battling the 458 racecar in endurance racing, some answers were much wilder.

While well-known names on the go-fast scene were mentioned (think Lamborghini and McLaren), somebody mistook this for a Brabus, while another answer pointed towards a Zonda.

In case the urban landscape around the supercar seems familiar, that’s because Ford Europe used the same location to play with the Mustang Shelby GT350 last month.

So, is it coming to Europe?

The carmaker revved that flat-plane V8, scaring people in what has become a London tradition. When asked about the quiet pose of the GT, the company replied they did not have the clearance to turn up the volume of that V6 Ecoboost.

Ford hasn’t made any official announcement on the GT’s European availability, but you can expect the supercar to show up on the Old Continent. Mind you, with production rumored to be limited at 250 units per year, this will be a rare sight.
