It was exactly one week ago when our spy photographers sent us a fresh batch of photos showing the 2017 Ford Fusion during testing. They've done it again, but this time with a more up-close approach.
Ford is keeping tabs on the upcoming Ford Fusion facelift which means test mules have a lot of work to do these days. But our carparazzi are all eyes, so they managed to catch a prototype undergoing testing.
Funny thing, the Mondeo only reached the European market earlier this is year - January to be more precise - while the Fusion (its American peer) debuted in 2012 as a 2013MY.
Before y'all take a trip on cloud nine upon seeing those exhaust pipes, keep in mind that they're for testing purposes only. However, you could expect the ones on the production model to feature squared-off tips integrated in the bumper, which I personally think look a lot cooler.
Anyway, just as it happened with the first set of spyshots, the prototype is not very revealing. Nevertheless, we can still spot some design tweaks in the rear bumper along with some refined graphics on those big taillights.
The technical department is likely to get new engine and gearbox upgrades as well, but there's no point in just launching rumors. The cabin will get its fair share of refresments - in fact, we could see a rotary dial replacing the classical gear lever, just like in the Range Rover line-up.
Other than that, Ford might walk the retouching brush on some areas like the front fascia, but overall, the revised Fusion will wear the same wheel arches, same door handles and the same character line. Expect these changes to affect the European Mondeo as well, but that won't happen earlier than 2016.
