Rumors about Ducati preparing to revive the SuperSport model appeared earlier this year over at World Ducati Week. Fast forward a few months, and here we are with the first video teaser of the motorcycle, which is about to make its debut in October.
The clip isn’t revealing much of the bike, but the tiny bits shown here tell a story about the SuperSport being a fusion between the Ducati Monster and Panigale models.

The fact that the video asks “What if sport could be lived in everyday roads?” further emphasized the fact that the upcoming SuperSport is a blend of a pure racing machine and your daily street bike, with enough comfort to be used even as a commuter.

‘The new SuperSport is a bike for those eager to ride sports-style on everyday roads,” as Ducati describes. “Fun, versatile and accessible, with true Ducati sports styling and zest, the SuperSport promises exciting, fun riding sensations while ensuring everyday comfort and easy handling whatever the roads are like. An innovative leap that, even before its debut, has won widespread support and aroused considerable interest; at Cologne, the SuperSport is set to steal the limelight, to say the least.’

The engine is expected to be the same unit found on the Hypermotard, namely the 939 Testastretta 11° 937cc liquid-cooled power plant which is rated at 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and a very chunky 97.9 Nm (72.1 lb-ft) of torque at 7,500 rpm.

Apart from that, expect the new Ducati SuperSport to be fitted with Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspension, slightly high-mounted clip-on bars, slipper clutch, a 2-into-2 stacked exhaust and maybe the trademark banana seat similar to that of the older models.

The teaser also reveals a date - October 4, 2016 - which, most probably, is the day this new beast will be presented to the world at INTERMOT in Cologne, Germany. We expect the bike to be leaked on the Internet just before the unveiling event so stick close for more info.
