The Viper’s final production model year will not come with a price increase when compared to the model year 2016 car. The news originates from an independent website specialized in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles products, FCA Authority, which has carefully searched through the official announcements of the American brand regarding the 2017 Viper.
According to the source mentioned above, the 2017 Dodge Viper is priced at $92,990 in the United States of America. The price specified includes a gas-guzzler tax of $2,600, as well as $2,498 in destination charges. When compared to the 2016 model year of the Viper, which has made way for the final model year of the car, pricing has remained unchanged.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles could have seized the opportunity and raised the price of the 2017 Viper based on the fact that it will not build a successor immediately after production of the ongoing generation is concluded. The Viper’s dwindling sales probably convinced executives to forget any strategy that could have involved such practices.
Dodge has already created six special-edition models to send off the Viper into history, and five of them were based on the ACR model. As we reported at the time, the special edition cars were sold within days of the announcement of their availability, so Fiat Chrysler Automobiles offered another limited-production model, the Viper Snakeskin Edition ACR.
Customers of the 2017 Dodge Viper can still access the brand’s customization program. Thanks to the “Dodge 1 of 1” program, any customer can opt for a color combination that will not be repeated for the same model year.
Since the 2017 Viper is the last ever made on the ongoing generation, it will be the chance to select a tasteful combination that has a shot of being unique. If you ask us, get one of these if you are planning on buying a Viper.
Over the years, a well-maintained car that has benefitted from this program will earn a premium upon resale. From an engineering point of view, the 2017 Viper is identical to the 2016 car.
