After it had launched the Easy-R automated manual transmission, the Romanian subsidiary of Renault is preparing to debut the mid-cycle facelifts of the Sandero subcompact hatchback Logan MCV wagon.
Renault design chief Laurens van den Acker made it clear that the two siblings are on track for Paris, while the second-generation Duster compact crossover is bound to debut in 2017. The Geneva Motor Show is the place where Dacia will most probably do it considering that the current Duster was introduced to the public at the 2010 edition of the poshest auto show.
That is that and this is now, so let’s focus on the Sandero and Logan MCV for now. The photo gallery reveals something enthusiasts were expecting from the mid-cycle facelift of the subcompact-sized twins. More to the point, the grille will borrow the hexagonal mesh grille and chrome-plated decorative strips from the Duster. Turn signal lights integrated into the door mirrors are also on the menu. The bumper and headlight graphics also appear to be different, although not by much if we're honest.
The profile doesn’t bring anything new to the table. As for the rear end, designers updated the taillight graphics and not much else. If you look closely at the pic that depicts the 2017 Dacia Sandero with the doors open, you’ll notice a redesigned steering wheel and gloss black plastic on the center stack. In the case of the Logan MCV, the trunk lid prides itself on a cleaner design than that of the current model.
At the present moment, it still isn't not known if the mid-cycle update will bring something new engine-wise. If the rumors are to be believed, the 1.2-liter TCe with 123 horsepower (125 PS) from the Duster will be added to the range as the most powerful option available. Other than the Sandero and Logan MCV, the facelifted Logan four-door sedan will also be present at the Paris Motor Show this coming October.
