Just to avoid any confusion, the 2017 Dacia Duster that will come at Goodwood isn’t the long-awaited second generation with the funky-looking steering wheel. Instead, it’s the final evolution of the tried-and-tested first-generation Duster, a compact SUV that features revised styling and minor improvements.
Introduced by Dacia in 2009, the Duster is getting a little long in the tooth, but continuous improvements helped the Romanian model keep its edge. The facelift applied in September 2013 is the biggest improvement of all because it introduced the 1.2-liter TCe turbocharged four-cylinder mill to the lineup.

The 2017 model year, however, is more of everything. All Duster models come as standard with new interior upholstery and the Ambiance trim level adds DAB radio. Additional changes include the dark carbon finish for the dashboard, as well as satin chrome center console surround and steering wheel inserts.

For the first time ever, rear parking sensors are available as a factory-fit option. If you’d rather a parking camera, you can get it as an option on the Laureate and above.

In range-topping Prestige flavor, the 2017 Dacia Duster boasts standard goodies that include the parking camera, MediaNav Evolution 7-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, and 16-inch Tyrol diamond-cut wheels. Priced at £13,795 (or £900 more than the Laureate trim level), the Prestige’s selling point is that it is £250 than a Laureate equipped with the same kit as individual options. Not much, but every little bit counts.

The most expensive Duster you can get, however, is the Prestige dCi 110 4x4 (£16,495 on-the-road price). As for the cheapest, the Access SCe 115 4x2 will set you back a cheap and cheerful £9,495. When you think about it, the Duster still is as “shockingly affordable” as it was when it was introduced in the United Kingdom in 2012. The full engine lineup and pricing for the 2017 Dacia Duster is available in the release below.
