2017 Chevrolet Bolt Order Guide Confirms Lack of Adaptive Cruise Control

While we wait for the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt to roll into U.S. dealerships, the golden bowtie released the order guide for its newest electric vehicle, RPO codes and all. As expected, adaptive cruise control is nowhere to be found in the said order guide.

This shortfall was half-confirmed in a ride along video in which a General Motors employee couldn’t say if adaptive cruise control will be added in the model year 2018 or later in the Bolt’s lifecycle. Be that as it may, Chevy hasn’t cut back on standard equipment for the Bolt, not even for the base model.

Priced from $37,495 ($29,995 after vectoring in the federal tax credit), the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt is available in two trim levels: LT and Premier. The latter is $40,905 plus $875 destination charge. Both models are capable of up to 255 miles in city driving, which is way better than what Nissan can squeeze out from the Leaf and the Ford Motor Company from the archaic Focus Electric.

Standard equipment for the base model includes a helluva lot of safety bits and bobs, including driver and front passenger knee airbags, remote vehicle start, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi, 10.2-inch MyLink infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sirius XM, six-speaker audio system with an AUX jack (beat that, iPhone 7!), single-zone automatic air con and climate control, cruise control, LED daytime running lights, power-adjustable mirrors, 120-volt portable charge cord, 7.2 kW high-voltage charger, Regen on Demand with steering wheel paddle, independent suspension at the front, and semi-independent compound crank suspension at the rear.

On the Premier model, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt adds heated rear seats, rear camera mirror, Surround Vision with bird’s eye view, a rear center armrest, body-color door handles with chrome strips, side mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, rear cargo double floor storage, and 18-inch wheels. When it comes down to optional extra, CCS DC fast charging is probably the highlight.

At $750, it’s a bit disappointing General Motors doesn’t offer fast charging as standard. Other than that, four optional packs complete the order guide: Driver Confidence Package (LT) and Driver Confidence II Package (Premier, only available with the Infotainment Package), as well as the Comfort and Convenience Package plus the Infotainment Package. The latter adds wireless charging for your Qi-enabled mobile phone, which is a very nice touch.
