At long last, Buick did the right thing and launched an all-new Lacrosse. With a front fascia that borrows many styling cues from the Avenir Concept, the 2017 Buick Avenir has the makings of a no-nonsense luxury sedan.
Slated to go on sale in the summer of 2016, the all-new LaCrosse features an elegant front grille with darkened waterfall bars. Right in the middle, the mid-sized luxury sedan distinguishes itself via a modern interpretation of the Buick tri-shield insignia. As for the swept-back headlamps, these babies come as standard with LED signature lighting.

Once you look at it from its side profile, the 2017 Buick LaCrosse gets even prettier thanks to the low roofline that makes the car appear wider than it actually is.

We have to tip our hat to the man who decided to go for the swepspear body-side design because this styling detail gives the all-new LaCrosse an elegant flow from the front fender to the rear end.

As for the cabin design, the team behind it managed to create a seamless ambience thanks to the fluidity of the interior forms. Thanks to details such as French stitching, wood trim, 8-way adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-inch IntelliLink infotainment system, the 2017 Buick LaCrosse sedan is a fine blend of comfort and technology.

Underpinned by the brand new GM E2XX platform, the all-new LaCrosse is about 300 pounds (136 kg) lighter than the 2016 model year. As standard, the chassis boasts five-link rear suspension for added handling prowess and comfort, as well as electronic power steering. HiPer Strut front suspension and a Continous Damping Control system are available on higher-end variants of the 2017 LaCrosse.

The only powerplant available is a 3.6-liter V6 with 305 horsepower and 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) of torque. In essence, it's a downtuned version of the naturally aspirated V6 in the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The motor is paired to a GM 8L90 Hydra-Matic 8-speed automatic transmission, which drives the front wheels.

All-wheel drive is an optional extra recommended to two types of customers: those who like to drive in a spirited manner or those who want to get through the winter without bogging down in the snow.
