The Audi TT Roadster is still not viewed as a real sportscar due to its compact size. However, a new engine is sure to fix that.
Ever year since I've started writing stories about cars, Audi has been winning Car of the Year awards with its 2.5 TFSI, the legendary odd-firing machine. Now there's a new version, built with aluminum and capable of delivering 400 horsepower.
Unless we are mistaken, this is now the most powerful series-production car with a FWD-based chassis, but there might be some sort of Cadillac with that title. Regardless, the TT RS is about as fast as the early Ferrari California while costing a fraction of the price.
While the 2017 TT Roadster currently landing in showrooms looks outdated, thanks to small wheels and unimaginative colors, the RS model plays the part of the overpowered villain perfectly.
Audi designers have added a gaping grille with razor-sharp edges at the bottom.Side sills and a rear diffuser help it play the part too. She is by no means a cheap car, but the interior makes up for this shortcoming. The digital dash, air vent controls, and bucket seats all place the TT RS in a class above its main rivals.
The paint is, of course, Nardo Gray, one of our favorite Audi colors. It works so well with the sharp, futuristic lines. Unfortunately, every RS model has put on this coat, so it's lost its novelty value. As for the interior, we see Palomino Brown leather with gray sides. The only splash of colors is the red starter button on the steering wheel.
Audi, unfortunately, doesn't make walkaround videos of its forum display cars. We'll have to wait a little while longer to get a real-life impression. But for now, we can show you the official launch clip and another showcasing how amazing this location is.
