Aprilia’s Tuono V4 1100 RR and Tuono V4 1100 Factory will get a range of new parts and electronics for 2017 as recently presented by the bike manufacturer at the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany.
Both models gain a retuned engine to be Euro 4 eligible and more reliable than before. To be specific, the exhaust system is new along with the ECU which adds 500 more rpm to the range. The piston pins gained a DLC coating while the con rod heads received a surface honing treatment.
The engine management also gets three new maps - Sport, Track, and Race - to allow for optimum performance in different conditions.
The brake system now uses Brembo M50 calipers, a radial master cylinder and larger 330mm discs. The Tuono B4 1100 Factory also benefits from an Ohlins NIX rear shock absorber.
Continuing with the list of improvements, the Tuono gets a new quick-shifter that lets you downshift without using the clutch or closing the throttle. Cornering ABS is offered as standard and works with Aprilia’s system for preventing rear wheel lift under hard braking. A pit limiter is included in the APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) system along with cruise control.
Speaking of more stability, the wheelie control got improved, allowing the rider to adjust it on the go, even without letting go of the gas. the ATC (Aprilia Traction Control) follows the same recipe, being able to get tuned without stopping or closing the throttle.
The list gets rounded off with the addition of a new TFT color display panel on the dash along with an upgraded V4-MP smartphone datalogging system developed by Aprilia. The system now allows the rider to give voice commands and receive/make phone calls.
As with the rest of the updated models, the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR and 1100 Factory will be available in slightly restyled color themes.
