Good news, Alfa Romeo enthusiasts from the United Kingdom! The RHD 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia will go on sale later this year, holding an on-the-road price of £29,180 for the 2.0-liter turbo.
Up until this point, the only powerplants available for the Giulia in Europe consisted of the 2.2-liter turbo diesel with 150 or 210 PS, as well as the 510 PS 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 in the Giulia Quadrifoglio. Better late than never, Alfa confirmed what I was writing about back in November 2015. More to the point, the 2.0-liter turbo develops 200 PS (147 kW, 197 bhp).
The 2.0 GME (Global Medium Engine) T4 is the sole gasoline-powered option in the regular Giulia right now. Later on, the compact executive sedan from Italy will gain two more powerful variants of this engine, churning out 250 PS (184 kW, 247 bhp) and 280 PS (206 kW, 276 bhp), respectively.
At the other end of the spectrum, the UK-specific Giulia Quadrifoglio will set you back a cool £59,000. In-between the 2.0 GME T4 200 in the regular Giulia and the 2.9 TT V6 in the go-faster Quadrifoglio, the 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine will have to do. The cheapest oil-burning Giulia in the United Kingdom starts from £30,750, while the plushest retails for £34,150. Regarding customization, five trim levels will be made available, as will 13 paint jobs.
Transmission-wise, the eight-speed automatic comes as standard on all models. That’s right, dear reader! No manual for the UK, not even in the Giulia Quadrifoglio. This is an uninspired choice, more so when you think about the potential the Giulia could’ve had for fleet owners. From the viewpoint of standard kit, even the most basic of models comes with alloys, 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment, 8-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, rain sensor, rear parking sensors, and Forward Collision Warning.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the entry-level Giulia 2.0-liter turbo is costlier than a BMW 320i SE, which is almost equivalent in terms of power. And although it hurts me to say this, that's not OK.
