It comes a time when random car lovers outrun specialized spy photographers and manage to take pictures of highly-anticipated models. Like the Tesla Model X, for example.
Supercars get their fair share of public attention, and we all know how amateur-taken pictures are flooding the internet showing what's been rolling in the streets in terms of exotic and high-horsepower rides.

But Tesla Model X is an interesting enough car to make any petrolhead raise his antennas. As a result, we found a picture - likely taken from a MINI -  of a Tesla Model X riding on Route 101, near University exit close to Tesla's headquarters in Palo Alto.

The photo was posted on Google+ by Ron Talain, and cause a stir that flooded the comments section with different opinions. Among many off-topic posts, the impromptu spotter mentions he wasn't able to snap a picture of the car's front end, but according to his comment the Model X "looks like a Model S with a pug nose".

This got our imagination going crazy, since one month ago, we showed a video depicting the Model X wearing white wrap covering the front and rear end, but couldn't help but notice the tow hitch.

The 2016 Tesla Model X production is slated to kick-off towards the end of 2015 and will wear the same underpinnings as the Model S. To satisfy and also bring in more clientele, the crossover will be available in three variants: 60 kWh, 85 kWh and 85 kWh Performance.

All-wheel drive capabilities will be provided by two electric motors, and maximum range should be somewhere near 230 miles (370 km). However, we'll wait until Elon Musk discloses official data on the Model X.
