The acceleration time mentioned is not a one-time affair, as Drag Times notes, as the Model S can do this “on a regular base.” Sure, the result will not be exactly 2.65 seconds from 0 to 60 mph, but it will be in the same region.
Considering the impressive acceleration time, the Tesla Model S P90D is remarkable in itself as a car. It does not matter anymore that it is an EV because we are writing about a vehicle that can deliver sub-three-second 0-60 times without breaking a sweat.
Once the specific values accomplished by the Model S are put into consideration, you can observe that there is no stock production automobile cheaper than $1 milion that will match its acceleration time, save for the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
What argument could persuade a petrolhead to get an electric car than such a traditional comparison, which is valid for everything that has been officially timed at the time it was available as a production vehicle.
There are faster production cars than the Tesla Model S P90D with the Ludicrous mode which do not cost more than it does. One of them is the Ariel Atom in its top specification, but it does not compare to the Model S concerning comfort.
