There's something going on in Suzuki's backyard because we're getting more and more spyshots with the facelifted Suzuki SX4 S-Cross.
In terms of visual appearance, nothing's changed in the sense that the crossover is still hanging on to those camouflage foils covering the rear and the front ends. However, we can spot some similarities between the front fascia of the facelifted S-Cross and BMW's choice for the new X1, but this is where the resemblance ends.
However, our car photographers were able to get close enough to capture the interior. If Suzuki keeps the setup shown in the picture, clients are in for a new sat-nav unit that unsurprisingly, looks identical to the one we know from the new Suzuki Vitara. Other than that, the cabin looks untouched.
As far as the exterior is concerned, we expect this mid-career facelift to arrive with new bumpers, new headlights and a restyled grille for the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross while taillights might also receive refreshed graphics. Also, the fog lamps seem new from what we can tell by looking at the spyshots.
The reason the SX4 S-Cross is gaining so much attention from Suzuki has a lot to do with the brand's sales strategy. If you remember, the S-Cross' forerunner, the SX4 was Suzuki's chief asset for invigorating sales between 2006 and 2013.
Now, the S-Cross was brought to do the same job, together with the new Suzuki Vitara. But the SX4 S-Cross remains an unusual breed, as its design was perfected in Japan, while the crossover is being built in Europe, at Suzuki's facility in Hungary.
Also, it's underpinning are also shared with an Italian car, namely the Fiat Sedici, following a convenient partnership between the two carmakers.
We can't tell you much about what the facelifted S-Cross will shelter under the hood. Word on the street is Suzuki will introduce a new 1.4-liter turbocharged mill, to complement the existing 120-horsepower 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine.
