If you were already considering selling your old bike and using whatever money you saved to get the new Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS, you’ll just have to wait some more. Suzuki introduces the bike as a 2016 model year, so the earliest you can hope to throw a leg over it will most likely be around mid-year… next year.
Still, we cannot even begin to say how much we enjoy the naked/non-naked duality which seems to have become so popular in the industry lately. This means that one can basically decide which type of aggressive looks will he or she go for. Will it be badass naked bikes with no windscreen to fend flies off? Suzuki’s got the Suzuki GSX-S1000 for that job. Looking forward to some extra weather protection, the all-new GSX-S1000F ABS is here for you.

GSX-RR MotoGP’s road relative

If you didn’t know already, Suzuki will be back in MotoGP next year, with Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro. The house of Hamamatsu has dropped the V engine design in favor of the in-line fours and the tweaked K7 R1000 power unit of the GSX-S1000F ABS is one of the closest relative of the premiere class GSX-RR prototype.

Suzuki employed many of the new developments of the MotoGP engine in the creation of this new liter-class mill. Since the intended use is on the street, new camshafts have been used and the peak power figure has been shifted a bit toward the lower RPM zone. This makes sure the Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS retains a lot of grunt for aggressive riding and customers should not be afraid to pit it against other sport bikes on the local track.

Urban riding is also a rewarding experience especially as the frame has been revised to provide more comfort. The GSX-S1000F ABS shares most of the features with its scantily-clad sister and this means that the 999cc DOHC mill is mated to a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox and has the same 4-mode traction control system.

The wheels are also Enkei, but the ABS is now standard. The Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS rolls on the same 43mm KYB fully-adjustable fork and employs its sister’s height-adjustable Showa monoshock.

The Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS offers significantly better weather protection as the bike arrives with a generous front cowl and an ample windscreen. At the same time, the skimpy radiator shrouds have been replaced with a, should we say ¾, fairing which extends down to the lower section and forms a half-length belly pan. This means that the Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS is not as well-clad as the R1000, and is at a decent half-distance from the GSX-S1000, as well.

No word on the price tag the Suzuki GSX-S1000F ABS will arrive with, but this information, as well as availability) is most likely to be unveiled pretty soon.
