2016 Renault Megane Rendering Looks Like a Mature Clio

The funny thing about French carmaker Renault is that it lies dormant for a couple of years and then launches multiple models at a time. The current wave started with the 2015 Espace, continued with the Kadjar and will probably end at the Megane IV.
Yes, folks, a fourth-generation Megane model is on its way. It's in such a complete state that we thought it would be shown in Paris, together with the Talisman sedan. But sources from within tell us to wait until early 2016.

Regardless of that, we can tell you pretty much everything there is to know about the compact hatchback. It will use the same platform as the Nissan Pulsar, and we can expect almost the exact same engines.

Downsizing seems to be on everyone's lips at Renault, as the biggest non-RS engine will have a 1.6L displacement. With diesel fuel, that translates into a maximum of 160 PS. But very few people will fork over the extra money to have the twin-turbo setup, which means the 130 PS version will suffice.

Even that seems like a lot considering base models will make due with the 1.5 dCi delivering as little as 90 PS. On the Petrol front, the Megane will mirror the new Opel Astra K, taking advantage of its light weight by offering the 1.6 turbos with 150 or 200 PS.

Above, we are showing you a rendering of the Megane IV drafted by SRK-Designs from India. We think it's quite accurate, probably because prototypes have been seen on multiple occasions. Only yesterday, we spotted this video on Instagram, taken in the city of Rotterdam.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
