While Porsche threw in a serious performance bonus to ease the 991.2 Carrera and Carrera S' switch turbocharging, Zuffenhausen engineers did their best to gift the new forced-fed flat-six with a soundtrack that doesn't give away its forced induction nature.
However, the tuning world begs to differ and we're here to show you what happens when a developer decides to work on the turbo nature of the boxer engine, allowing the aggressive boost noises to surface.

We're talking about Fabspeed Motorsport's exhaust goodies for the 2016 Carrera and Carrera S. The aftermarket company used the Carrera 4S in the video below as their development car - keep in mind that the sportscar had been fitted with the Sports Exhaust option, so the tuner was albe to use the button that opens or closes the dB-enhancing valves in the exhaust.

The Porsche Neunelfer you see here is gifted with the full range of goodies, packing sport headers, sport cats, as well as the deluxe dual style tips. Those willing to go all the way can also choose a cat bypass.

Vicious soundtrack aside, the custom exhaust brings a peak output premium of 32 hp and 2 lb-ft of torque, but these are the values at the wheels. When it comes to power gains throughout the rev range, the company promises gains averaging 25 hp (once again, at the wheels) from 5,000 rpm onwards.

Another promise has to do with the lack of drone in both valve modes and, given the practicality aura of the rear-engined coupe, this is a key aspect.

"With extended development time on a Carrera 4S with the factory Sport Exhaust, we have crafted components to unleash the flat-6 growl while enhancing the presence of the twin turbos. This Lava Orange 991.2 Carrera 4S was our beautiful platform for crafting our exhaust components," the specialist explains.

As for future developments, Fabspeed Motorsport is currently working on ECU remaps for the 991.2. And while they're busy with that, we're inviting you to check out the delicious soundtrack of the video below.
