2016 Opel/Vauxhall Mokka Facelift Rendered, Might Look a Lot Like the Real Car

The Opel/Vauxhall Mokka or the Buick Encore as it is known in the US has been enjoying a profitable three-year interval since its debut on the market, and its makers are ready to keep that up.

Of course, a mid-career facelift is the best way to keep a car fresh and updated, but more important relevant for customers. Now, we've already seen spyshots showing the 2016 Opel/Vauxhall Mokka undergoing preproduction testing, but these renderings from RM.Design look a lot like a potential real-life upgraded model.

In any case, we don't expect significant changes, so this facelift should be a mild makeover supposed to bring the crossover in line with the design language displayed by the new Opel Corsa and Astra hatchbacks.

Normally, this should be done using new headlights and (possibly LED) taillights design, a changed grille as well as redesigned front and rear bumpers. Bearing in mind Nissan facelifted the Juke some time ago, the Mokka will have to make a statement with its appearance, but keep it subtle at the same time.

As far as the engine department is concerned, the crossover should receive a new 1.4-liter (the same as the one developed for the Astra K) good for 150 horsepower and rated at an average fuel consumption of only 5 l/100 km.

In the diesel sector, the small SUV will most likely keep the 1.6-liter turbodiesel but will welcome another mill, an 110 horsepower "whisper diesel".

The cabin should also go through a cosmetic refresh, but nothing too fancy or extensive. We'll know more once Opel/Vauxhall drops the first official info and photos with the Mokka facelift - probably ahead of this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, so we'll keep you posted.
