2016 Nissan Titan Truckumentary Teaser Is Not Saying Much

Built since September 2003 at the Nissan Canton assembly plant in Mississippi, the current Titan will be phased out for an all-new generation late next year. In order to raise the hype, Nissan decided to make a truckumentary that will debut in December.

Until the so-called Titan Truckumentary will be uploaded on YouTube in mid-December, along with its silly #CumminsSoon social media tag, the Japanese manufacturer put together a teaser video that doesn’t reveal a single spec of the much-talked-about 2016 NIssan Titan full-size workhorse.

The story of Nissan USA’s upcoming full-size truck will be told through a series of short clips. An official statement from the company reads that “more than a dozen videos” covering the development of the 2016 Titan will be featured on YouTube throughout the next calendar year.

"The 'Truckumentary' is not meant to be the all-encompassing last word on Titan," said Rich Miller, Nissan North America's director of product planning for trucks and SUVs and chief product specialist for the new Titan. “Rather it's the continuing story of the vehicle's evolution, accompanied by a close look at the American-based team that is bringing this all-new truck to market."

In plain English, that’s a big, fat blah blah blah. Thank you for nothing, Mr. Miller

Nevertheless, we’ve captured some stills from the video below, showcasing the new, upright front grille design, the bed door and the styling of the taillights. Fortunately, our team of spy photographers caught on film a pre-production 2016 Nissan Titan hauling & towing machine at the beginning of November.

We’ve covered what the new truck will boast with by the time it enters production in the fall of 2015, including its party piece - a 5-liter ISV Cummins V8 turbo diesel with Rotary Turbine Control and a Holset M2 Two-Stage sequential turbocharging system. Follow this link to find out more about the new Titan.
