In what Nissan calls the first chapter of the Titan truckumentary, the Japanese brand kicked off the series with Fred Diaz and a plethora of older trucks. The senior VP of marketing and sales and Brent Hagan from Nissan product planning stroll through the brand’s truckin' past, which is nice and all...
...but those two forgot to mention one really important aspect throughout the 5-minute 24-second videoclip – the 2016 Nissan Titan. As expected from such a bad campaign meant to raise the interest of potential owners in the all-new model, the automaker is kickin' cans here  instead of cutting to the chase. Still, fingers crossed the next vid will be a lil' better.

Until that moment comes, we can tell you a few details about the long-awaited 2016 Titan and the much-rumoured Cummins turbo diesel the full-size workhorse packs under its square-ish bonnet.

The truckumentary's first episode revealed only one thing – the logo that'll identify the pickup truck
Other than that, we rely only on previous information: to debut at the Detroit Auto Show on January 12th, next year, the new Nissan Titan will be truly all-American from head to toe.

Designed in California, engineered in Michigan, tested in Arizona, assembled in Mississippi and powered by engines from Indiana and Tennessee, the 2016 Titan may wear a Nissan badge, but it's born in the U S of A.

Boasting a slightly more accomodating cabin than ever, the new Titan will be powered by a 5-liter Cummins ISV turbo diesel with two chargers, expected to churn out 300-plus horsepower and 550 lb-ft (745 Nm).
