What two weeks ago was only a picture with the taillights next to a soccer boot materialized today into a set of images and information about the new Nissan Navara NP300.

Therefore, ladies and gentlemen keen on pickup truck, allow us (and Nissan) to introduce the new Navara NP300, for now only on the Internet, before we get to see the car in the metal at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015.

The main novelties introduced by Nissan's pickup include a new 2.3-litre dCi diesel engine "up to 24 percent more efficient than the unit it replaces and is the cleanest and most economical in its sector".

Clients can opt for one of the two available power outputs, namely 160 horsepower and 190 horsepower, both featuring twin-turbocharging technology.

Drivers can manage the resources of these two mills through the choice of two or four-wheel drive and the option of a standard six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

Nissan tells us a new five-link rear suspension system was developed for the Double Cab model, a setup that's 20 kg lighter than the previous configuration. Towing capacity is set at 3,500 kg, while the Double Cab's load bed was increased by 67 mm and now offers a length of 1,578 mm.

There's not much to comment on exterior changes besides the addition of Nissan's V-motion front grille and the boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights.

As far as the cabin is concerned, Nissan came up with a massively revised dashboard and new Spinal Support front seats, "engineered using technology inspired by NASA". Additional features include dual-zone digital climate control, as well as a new rear cab ventilation and seat design.

On the tech side, high equipment levels include Around View Monitor, NissanConnect and LED headlamps plus Cruise Control, Hill Descent Control  and Hill Start Assist.

We'll be able to tell you more once we get to meet and greet the new Navara NP300 in the metal at the Frankfurt Motorshow on September 15, when further information will be announced, including (we hope) pricing details.
