While Camaro fans are getting tons of attention from Hennessey, with the tuner pulling all sorts of shenanigans in the 2016 Camaro SS development program, Mustang aficionados haven’t exactly been forgotten by the Texan tuner. The company is now focusing on the 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 and we’re here to discuss overly speedy matters.
The Lone Star State developer has recently put the stock incarnation of the special ‘Stang through its paces, willing to see how the slab of Ford Performance behaves in an acceleration test.

Hennessey pulled an acceleration test that saw the Shelby GT350 going from 0 to 170 mph (274 km/h), recording the dashboard in the process. This wasn’t the kind of trial aiming for a full mile time or anything of the sort, so the mid- and top-end grunt was more important than the launch.

The launch was soft and the shifts were firm but there is certainly better 0-60 and 0100 mph times in this car. We wanted to be able to compare our upgraded GT350 with stock and believe that the 0-150 mph times will be significantly faster,” Hennessey says, explaining the way things went.

As for the upgrade part, we’ve already talked you through Hennessey’s Mustang Shelby GT350 program - courtesy of a 2.9-liter supercharger, the VooDoo delivers 808 ponies.

But, but... what about the break-in process?

Since the dash footage also included the shy mileage of the car, Hennessey was obviously asked to explain the hooning that has come to substitute the break-in procedure.

“We [do] this so and have been doing this for the past 25 years. If you want your engine to last a million miles then maybe not. We would rather it last 100k miles while driving it the way it was meant to be driven,” the tuner said, in one of the least surprising responses of the year.
