If you know one or two things about MotoGP, then you should also know that the contracted riders are not allowed to test between December 1 and January 31 of next year. If the factory wants to test, they must use the test riders.
The first time the MotoGP full-time riders will get in touch with the 2016 machines after New Year's Eve is in early February. The debut 2016 test will take place in Malaysia at Sepang, on February 1-3.

It will be interesting to see how things roll then, because 2016 will be at least a three-way battle for the title. Rossi, Lorenzo and Marquez will all be in cutthroat mood, and we can't even rule Pedrosa out of the game, as he is still looking for his first world title.

Australia will host the second and final pre-season test session on February 17-19 at Phillip Island. As we reported, there will not be any second test at Sepang before the season kick-off. The first race of 2016 remains the Qatar round at the Losail circuit, on March 20. For the first time in TT Assen history, the Dutch GP will take place on a Sunday, on June 26.

Lorenzo and Sector agreed on the termination of the sponsorship contract before Sepang

We reported around mid-November about the fact that watch manufacturer Sector announced the termination of the sponsorship contract with Jorge Lorenzo. The industry speculated that the move had everything to do with anti-Rossi positions. The Spaniard's communications department now provides a declaration that states that the truth is different.

According to gp-inside, Lorenzo says that the contract termination was agreed upon since September 2015. The Yamaha rider also complains about the declarations made by Sector on November 5, referring to the lack of sportsmanship, integrity, and fair play that caused the contract termination.

The Spanish rider also adds that Sector knew that Chinese phone manufacturer Zopo would replace them as sponsor. Making things even more intriguing, Lorenzo says that Sector has not contacted anyone in his media/PR team in relation to making a statement before the Valencia round.

This whole sponsor story certainly needs more info to find out what exactly happened. We know that Sector is a brand in the Italian Morellato Group, so some Spain vs. Italy enmity at a certain level cannot be ruled out altogether. Told you the hatchet was not buried...
