Our spy photographers are always on the prowl and this time they spotted and photographed, of course, what we believe to be the upcoming SLC 450 AMG Sport.

By now, you should know that due to Mercedes-Benz's change in nomenclature, the SLK will be renamed SLC. We spotted the roadster during testing a couple of times before, but the latest batch of spyshots courtesy of our carparazzi tells the story of a more performance-oriented SLC.

Namely, the SLC 450 AMG Sport, not to be confused with the classic racer going by the name of Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC AMG. But that's another story, so let's focus on the spyshots you're about to see, shall we?

Compared to the previously spied Mercedes-Benz SLC (former SLK), this particular test mule sports divided exhausts on each side coupled with a more aggressive front end and a new air intake under the grille.

If we're not mistaken, the car looks a bit beefier than its standard peer, but the rear and front ends are still wrapped in camouflage foil blocking our view, but maybe it's the kaleidoscopic pattern playing tricks on our eyes.

Although we weren't expecting an AMG treatment on the facelifted SLC just yet, it seems Mercedes-Benz thought an almost full-tilt SLC AMG might be a good idea. Since the '450' indicative is present here, we think the car could receive the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 plant found under the C450 AMG's hood, that's good for a hefty 362 horsepower arsenal plus 384 lb-ft (520 Nm) of maximum torque.

Little is known about the car so far, but more info should come to light in the coming weeks, so we'll keep you posted.
