Mercedes-Benz are looking ready to close pre-production testing for the 2016 SL facelift, which means the model has a chance of making a debut this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015.
Previous spyshots of the revised roadster showed test mules being put through their paces both in Europe and the US, and as the model's reveal date is closing in, it looks like more camouflage is coming off with each batch we receive from our carparazzi.

However, US models seem to wear different camouflage clothing than those our team of spy photographers has been spotting in Europe. For this particular model you'll see in the photo gallery, the front end is partially revealed, as you'll notice the air intakes and a portion of the front grille.

In any case, the interior will be the area that will benefit most from this facelift, as Mercedes-Benz looks to add a more premium feel for the passengers. This explains the new steering wheel, a bigger touchscreen display as well as a new button configuration to tidy things up a bit and give that fresh visual breeze throughout the cabin.

Engine wise, the SL400 and its 333-horsepower V6 is likely to be included in the line-up, although you know we're hoping AMG Sport will become interested in the roadster.

That's still up for discussion, but if an SL 450 AMG version is spawned, it might pack around 370 horsepower. It's too early to talk about that though, so we'll let time and Mercedes-Benz tell us more about the 2016 SL.
