Last time we received news about the upcoming facelifted Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG, carparazzi spotted the car testing around the city.
This time, however, Stuttgart's pocket-rocket was placed in an environment that's more suitable for its ambitions and capabilities. In fact, it's the same road segment - we assumed somewhere in a hilly area of Spain - where the Kia Cee'd Sportswagon was caught testing.

Bound to reach midlife next year, the ongoing A45 AMG will require a refreshing and Mercedes-Benz is in no need for wake-up calls to get going. Mercedes official already confirmed the premium hot hatch will meet the public this fall, but he also pledged to end Audi RS3's domination in terms of horsepower.

The current A45 AMG packs 360 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque, just 7 HP under the Audi RS3. But rumor has it Mercedes will bless the refreshed A45 AMG with up to 380 HP, enough to generate a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds.

If the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder workhorse is given a power bump, engineers will most likely tune up the 7-speed automatic transmission as well. Also, the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system could be open to fine improvements.

In terms of appearance, we shouldn't expect a plethora of changes since performance is what matters most in this case, and the A45 AMG looks badass enough. However, designers will most likely brush the car's front grille, headlights and taillights with revised graphics, but, all in all, that should be about it.
