Mercedes-Benz published official pricing in Germany for the recently revealed 2016 Mercedes A-Class facelift that introduced a new base model in the line-up.
There's no coincidence Mercedes-Benz showed the updated A-Class a short time after BMW presented their facelifted 1 Series as the two models battle for supremacy in the compact premium segment.
Now we get to know how much is Mercedes asking for their compact model. First of all, we need to tell you there's a new base model in the A-Class range, namely the A 160, animated by a 102 HP engine. For this model, Mercedes set a starting sticker of €23,746, roughly around $26,382 at current exchange rates.
Higher up the ladder we find the A 180 d BlueEFFICIENCY Edition offering a theoretical combined fuel consumption of 3.5 l/100 km, available from €27,852 or $30,944 at current exchange rates.
Those looking for racing-inspired visual features for their A-Class can go for the "Motorsport Edition" model, inspired by the AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team. Depending on the engine variant, it will cost an additional €4,849 to €6,307 and will include the front and rear bumper trim are painted in petrol green and AMG light-alloy wheels.
As optionals, clients can add amenities like new suspension with Adaptive Damping System (€892 or $991), LED High-Performance headlamps (€1,041 or $1,156) and ambient lighting (€142 or $158)
In the hardcore corner of the A-Class line-up, the 381 HP Mercedes-AMG A45 4MATIC wears a price tag of €51,051, the equivalent of $56,718 at current exchange rates. As you know, the facelift brought an additional 21 HP for the premium hothatch while torque ratings went up by 25 Nm to a total of 475 Nm (350 lb-ft).
