The small Mazda MX-5 Miata roadster never looked better than in its new 2016 shape. It is also lighter, stiffer and comes with increased interior quality as well as with more amenities. It has all what you’ve been wishing for, but the automaker believes it wouldn’t be a complete model without a generous list of extra accessories, which can now be seen here at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.
Yep, Mazda unveiled the white 2016 MX-5 Miata Accessories concept it was teasing a few days ago and it seems that the white paint itself, Ceramic Metallic to be specific, is part of the deal.
The list continues with 17-inch BBS forged rims, Brembo brakes as well as a stylish luggage rack made out of carbon fiber that can be mounted on the trunk. The latter also comes with a Center High Mount Stop (CHMSL) to stick with road regulations.
Still not enough? Then you can get the Aero Kit which adds a front air dam, side sill extensions, rear bumper skirt as well as a lip spoiler that gets mounted on the trunk lid.
"There is so much MX-5 history at the Chicago Auto Show, and we wanted to continue building on that," said Jim O'Sullivan, president and CEO, Mazda North American Operations. "The MX-5 is the soul of our company, and its enthusiast following both inside and outside of Mazda drives us to keep innovating new ideas for it and the rest of our lineup."
For those addicted to huge power numbers, the accessories list says nothing about altering the 2-liter SKYACTIV-G’s 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. The transmissions remain the same as well and there’s still no word about a hardtop if that was also on your wishlist.
Pricing for all the extras haven't been revealed yet but do stick around as they'll eventually show up later this year.
