There's a lot of hype around the Lexus ES in the United States, where the mid-size sedan is topping sales for the Japanese brand, and its creators want to keep that flame burning.
As a result, Lexus just published a teaser photo ahead of the sedan's debut at the Auto Shanghai 2015. Unfortunately, we're not talking about a new model because Lexus will only refresh their sales-boosting sedan.

Since the ES is in line for a mild mid-life revision, we should not expect too many changes but the teaser photo does reveal a minor retouching job. For example, the traditional spindle grille looks like it underwent some cosmetic changes while the headlights received black graphics and those cheeky boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The ES has come a long way as Lexus introduced the model in 1989, which allowed the saloon to put six generations under its belt. In terms of sales, the ES reached around 1,7 million customers globally during its two decades and a half on the market.

Last year, the ES was voted America's most loved near-luxury car. Features like a 3.5-liter V6 delivering 268 HP and 10-way driver and passenger powered seats made the difference and propelled the ES in front of the runner-up Hyundai Genesis.

Speaking of performance, Lexus is keeping changes (if there will be any) secret for now, but they're willing to give us a piece of their PR & marketing chit-chat by claiming "the new Lexus ES maintains its classical elegance while conveying a more dynamic experience and luxurious craftsmanship".

Stay tuned, as we'll keep you updated with live photos from the Auto Shanghai 2015.
