Judging by the wave of spyshots showing the 2016 Kia Sportage undergoing the usual set of pre-production tests, an official launch date could be near.
But before Hyundai makes an official move, allow us to present you another batch of spy photos captured by our team of carparazzi.
We've opened the subject because this time, we have a clear view of the car's interior. Looking inside the 2016 Kia Sportage, we can't help but notice - and we're sure you'll do the same - the steering wheel, identical with what the Kia Optima has to offer.
Also, all you need to push or turn on the car's dashboard is grouped on the center console, below the 8-inch Infinity infotainment system.
At a closer look, the dashboard starts to resemble the one available in the Kia Sorento, the air vents included.
Exterior-wise, the test mule is a rather poorly equipped vehicle, maybe in basic-medium trim level. We're saying that because it comes equipped with 16-inch wheels, standard fog lights, and there's no sign of LED headlights or taillights.
Voices also suggest Kia might fit a small 1.2 turbo GDI with over 130 horsepower in the 2016 Sportage, but there's nothing official out their PR and marketing pipe in this respect.
Kia will reveal the fourth-generation Sportage in late August for the South Korean market and probably at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September for European customers. Some reports are also weighing in, claiming an American version will be spawned in October.

Engine choices
A 1.6 GDi mill offered only with front-wheel drive, and a manual gearbox will equip the entry-level Sportage.
