Kia put some wheels in motion for the 2016MY Kia Soul EV, which means the green ride gains a new entry trim, the so-called EV-e.
Kia is following the example of Volkswagen and decided the Soul EV range needs a new entry level model. It came as the Soul EV-e, but there's a drawback to this addition: it will only be available in California.

The Kia Soul EV-e starts at $31,950 according to InsideEVs, a price tag that makes it around $2,000 cheaper than the 2015 Soul EV and almost $4,000 cheaper than the top-of-the-range Soul EV+ (Plus) variant, with the Sun & Fun Package.

Coming back to the base Soul EV-e, you'll want to know Kia is offering a DC fast charge port, 6.6-killowatt onboard charger, 3.5-inch OLED Supervision cluster, smart key with push-button start and a driver-only ventilation function as standard features.

Other amenities include heated front seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, and FlexSteer, also as standard equipment.

With the Soul EV grade (which is middle-range now) clients will get Kia's 8-inch capacitive touchscreen with Rear Camera Display and navigation, a heat pump HVAC system, and the brand's suite of telematics technology as standard.

For those interested in going up a notch, Kia has the Soul EV+ variant. It comes with ventilated front passenger seats, heated rear outboard seats, leather trimmed seats, front and rear Park Assist, and power folding mirrors.

Also, there's the Sun and Fun package we mentioned above, introducing a panoramic sunroof, LED interior lighting and speaker lights that pulse to the beats of the six-speaker audio system.
