In case you thought Kia will stop doing what they know best now that the new Sportage is out their oven, please take another guess after you have a look at the 2016 Kia Cee'd.
The Koreans claim the upgrade for the 2016 Cee'd is a comprehensive one, and we can't actually contradict them since clients are served with changes on both the outside and inside, plus new mills.

On the visual side, changes include a more angular and wider bumper and new chrome trim surrounding the fog lamps, while the grille mesh was granted an oval shape.

The same goes for the rear end in terms of bumper redesign, where Kia also added LED taillights. The visual makeover is topped off by new 16- and 17-inch alloy wheel designs.

Chrome is the name of the game regarding cabin trim, where Kia engineers worked towards an improved NVH level (noise, vibration, harshness). Also, Kia installed a new Navigation System with the carmaker's Connected Services and features like live traffic updates and speed camera alerts.

New 1.0-liter engine

For the launch of the 2016 Kia Cee'd, the Koreans have prepared their new 1.0-liter T-GDI (turbo petrol direct injection) mill. We're talking about a downsized three-cylinder engine built at Kia's Namyang R&D centre in Korea.

The unit will be available with two power outputs. In its entry-level state, it will offer 100 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque, while the more potent variant will be able to deliver 120 horsepower and the same 172 Nm of torque, available early, from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm.

Revised GT Line

Kia is also telling us they've been making some mods to the cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT models. Besides the new 18-inch wheel design, the interior comes with a new flat-bottomed steering wheel and an aluminum Start/Stop button.

We can't tell you anything on pricing yet, but we'll keep you posted on this matter.
