2016 Infiniti QX30 Spied Wearing New Camo

It’s curious what five years or a lil’ more did to the posh spectrum of the C-segment hatchback. Half a decade ago, the premium C-segment wasn’t even a thing yet most manufacturers are trying to cut the mustard in it nowadays. Infiniti makes no exception from that rule.

The Japanese premium automaker joined hands with Mercedes-Benz in order to come up with a duo of C-segment models: the Q30 and QX30. By joining hands, we mean that Mercedes-Benz even takes care of pre-production testing of the A and GLA-based models.

Slated to be produced in Her Majesty’s Great Britain at a factory owned by Nissan, both Qs are slated to adopt four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel mills from the three-pointed star, along with the 7G-DCT auto.

4Matic all-wheel drive is also in the cards. Many are tempted by a voice in the back of the head to say “Wait a minute, isn’t this lousy engineering?” To be frank, not quite. Our spy photographers caught the Qs testing long hours around Europe, and this means only one thing: it will be a refined product in terms of road holding, worthy of all its Infiniti badges.

As you can see from our latest spotting of the butcher, crossover-like Infiniti QX30, this fellow mirrors many of the styling cues we first saw on the concept that was shown at Geneva. Black plastic cladding, beefier wheel arches, a slightly raised ride height, all wrapped up in Infiniti’s traditional design language is what you should be expecting early in 2016 when deliveries will start.
