If you could turn time five years back or so, the premium C-segment wasn’t coined yet. Nevertheless, the times they are a-changin’ and here we are today, with an assortment of select compact hatchbacks such as the Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176).
According to previous insider reports, Nissan-owned Infiniti works so closely together with Mercedes to develop the yet-to-be-revealed 2016 Infiniti Q30, the Germans appointed the Japanese to take care of the all R&D duties, including testing of prototypes.
Most of the previous spy photo galleries of the Q30 feature a Mercedes-Benz A-Class, so go figure what’s what. Then again, the Infiniti Q30 is underpinned by a slightly modified W176 platform.
In comparison to the Q30, the car that boasts with a three-pointed star features a character line that starts from the edge of the headlight and undercuts the door handles by only a few centimeters. All in all, you can’t deny that this dominant visual detail is...ahem... resembling.
The production-ready 2016 Infiniti Q30 vehicle spotted may be camo’d heavily, but some things are pretty obvious. We’re able to see some LED daytime running lights and tail lamps, adaptive full-LED headlights complemented by HIDs on entry-level models, a wire-mesh front grille similar to the Q70’s and two exhaust pipes integrated in the rear bumper that seem to be more on the fake, chintzy than on the sporty side.
Last but not least, we hear that the 2-liter turbo four-banger from Mercedes-Benz with 211 HP will be available for the Q30 as well, joined by a 2.1-liter turbo diesel motor. Slated to be assembled in Great Britain in the third quarter of 2015, the Infiniti Q30 may be presented alongside the QX30 crossover concept at Geneva. The North American market is set to receive its share of the 2016 Infiniti Q30 early next year.

First and foremost, check out that side profile feature line from the latest set of Infiniti Q30 spy photos
Yeah, the one that enhances the side profile design with a crease which starts from underneath the side mirror. That line crosses the door handles and finishes with the rear wheel arch. I’m not trying to find problems with the Q30’s design, but that line was inspired by the A-Class.In comparison to the Q30, the car that boasts with a three-pointed star features a character line that starts from the edge of the headlight and undercuts the door handles by only a few centimeters.
