The facelift for the Santa Fa has already been revealed. But nobody outside of Korea has seen it. Our spies in Germany were recently able to snap some photos of the facelifted Gand Santa Fe, a stretched version of the SUV that was testing on the autobahn road network.
Despite being a relatively new model, the Korean SUV prototype is wearing heavy camouflage in an attempt to disguise the changes that are underway. Some minor cosmetic tweaks will be made to bring it in line with the more recent design language of the Tucson. But we don't expect anything major, just a bit of nip and tuck.

On the outside, you will immediately notice the changes to the front and rear bumpers, as well as the headlights while the interior will offer updated infotainment systems.

Other changes will include the fact that more high-strength steel will be used in the chassis. Minor tweaks will be made in the engine range, but don't expect any miracles. One of the major highlights in this regard is a highly-anticipated e-AWD system that uses an electric motor to power the rear wheels rather than sending a prop shaft from the front. The Euro and US-spec models are expected to offer the 2.4-liter GDI, 2-liter turbo and 3.3-liter V6.

Most European markets will continue to rely on the 2.2-liter CRDI diesel engine and its old 6-speed automatic gearbox. However, power will go up from 197 to 202 PS and torque will increase from 436 to 441 Nm (325 lb-ft), most of which is available from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm.

On the safety front, we can expect the latest tech to be added, including Autonomous Highway Safety Driving, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Advanced Smart Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection.
