Hyundai decided it was high time the Elantra underwent some cosmetic and tech-related changes and, as a result, the 2016 Elantra comes with a new trim level and a bunch of subtle updates.
The main highlight brought by the 2016 Elantra is a new Value Edition trim. With this one, Hyundai wanted to create a pack of features that are most popular among clients, at a lower price. Kanye West might not have liked the Elantra, but some potential buyers might find this offer attractive.

The Value Edition equipment level offers $1,000 in savings and at the same time it costs just $550 more than the Elantra SE with the Popular Equipment package.

But what is the new trim offering exactly? Well, let's start with the exterior, shall we? Here, clients get 'unique' 16-inch alloy wheels, side mirror turn signals and a proximity key with push-button start.

On the inside, the Value Edition kit adds a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, leather tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel and shift knob, heated front seats plus chrome beltline molding and aluminum entrance sills.

Changes are also extended to the 2016 Elantra Limited, which now comes with standard proximity key with push-button start and dual automatic temperature control - allowing the customer to save around $600, according to Hyundai, since the model comes with the same MSRP as the previous model year.

Moreover, Hyundai decided to ditch the standard leather seats in the Elantra Sport along with the power sunroof, motivating such a move by an attempt to lower the car's starting price. Now, the Elantra Sport can be had for a starting price of $20,250.

Expect the 2016 Elantra to reach US dealerships this month, with a starting price tag of $17,250, without the $850 shipping fee.

The new Hyundai Elantra, however, is rumored to make a debut this year in Los Angeles, so we'll keep you up to date as more info surfaces online.
